Dr Claire Young
Dr. Claire Young is a Counselling Psychologist with over 11 years’ experience of working therapeutically in private and NGO sectors, schools and workplace settings in Hong Kong. She works with adolescents and adults, in individual or group formats. She also provides supervision to mental health professionals and trainees.

Experience
Claire has worked extensively with people who have mild to moderate problems (e.g. depression, anxiety and panic disorders, stress and burnout, problematic health behaviours, anger issues, sexuality and identity issues and relationship difficulties). She also has wide experience of working with clients facing unresolved past and present trauma, grief and loss.
Claire’s areas of special interest include: intergenerational trauma with a specific Asia/China geographic focus; men’s mental health and well-being; adolescent adjustment; workplace/academic stress and performance; coping with major life transitions; health behaviours and positive ageing. She has also conducted extensive research into the issues facing family health crises.
As a seasoned expat in mainland China and Hong Kong for the past 25 years, she is well-acquainted with the challenges of cross-cultural adjustments, and working within diverse ethnic and cultural settings.
